Ahmed Shehzad is angry. Like REALLY angry. After India won the T20 World Cup 2026 by SMASHING New Zealand in the final, the Pakistan batter went on TV and SLAMMED his own country’s cricket system. He said India has “talent + system” while Pakistan has “talent + nothing”. He even joked that Pakistan should have SEPARATE rankings with Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe. Let me tell you everything he said.
India played New Zealand in the final at Ahmedabad on Sunday. India scored 255/5 – HIGHEST score in T20 World Cup final history.
Sanju Samson: 89 runs, 8 sixes – Player of the Tournament.
Abhishek Sharma: 52 runs in 21 balls – CRAZY hitting.
Ishan Kishan: 54 runs – solid start.
New Zealand got all out for 159. India won by 96 runs. THIRD T20 World Cup title.
Shehzad appeared on Pakistan’s famous cricket show “Haarna Mana Hai” (Refuse to Lose) and he did NOT hold back. He praised India’s SYSTEM and CRITICIZED Pakistan’s.

Ahmed Shehzad said 🗣️
"Look, even Indian tailenders score 250. They manage to put up a total like that. Just look at them!
Our only problem now is that we invite smaller teams—UAE, Uganda, Kenya,… pic.twitter.com/1j8AVks0gU
“Pakistan doesn’t lack talent. The real problem is that our system is flawed. In India, they have both talent and a strong system, and that system keeps producing players.”
That means – India has GOOD coaching, GOOD selection, GOOD backing of players. Pakistan has NONE of that.
Shehzad used Sanju Samson as an EXAMPLE of India’s system.
“Take Sanju Samson, for example – he wasn’t even getting chances, and when he finally did, he ended up becoming Man of the Series in the World Cup.”
TRUE. Sanju was DROPPED after the NZ series. He had “broken, shattered dreams” as he said. But India kept believing in him, gave him a chance, and he became PLAYER OF TOURNAMENT with 321 runs.
Shehzad also mentioned Ishan Kishan:
“Then there’s Ishan Kishan, who wasn’t being played because of discipline issues and was sidelined for a while. He went back to domestic cricket, performed, returned to the side, and the impactful innings he’s playing now show he was always ready.”
Ishan had discipline issues in 2025, was dropped, went back to Ranji Trophy, scored runs, and came back STRONG. In the World Cup, he scored 77 vs Pakistan, 34 vs Zimbabwe, 54 in the final.
Abhishek Sharma had THREE ducks in the tournament. Everyone was saying “drop him.” But India STUCK with him. And in the final, he scored 52 off 18 balls with 5 sixes.
Shehzad said: “Look at Abhishek Sharma – how much pressure was he under? Yet in the final he showed what he could do, scoring 50 off just 18 balls.”
“And they’re not doing this against B, C or D teams. They’re not beating Zimbabwe, Uganda or Kenya and then showing those stats to the public. Indian players perform against the big teams. They play big matches and big series, and they have such depth that there’s always another player waiting behind the current one.”

🚨 Ahmed Shehzad takes a BRUTAL dig at Pakistan after India's world cup triumph
— Brutal Truth (@sarkarstix) March 8, 2026
"India is at the top because they prepare themselves against top teams. Pakistan, on the other hand, is content with playing Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Kenya. In fact, I think we should have new rankings… pic.twitter.com/tLkgcMSMZr
Ouch. That’s a DIG at Pakistan for celebrating wins against weaker teams.
The SUGGESTION That Shocked Everyone
Then Shehzad dropped the BIGGEST bombshell.
“If you keep inviting Zimbabwe, Kenya and Uganda, beating them and then calling yourselves the number one team among them, what does that achieve?”
“We should ask the ICC to remove the top five or six teams from the rankings. Then we can have separate rankings for Pakistan alongside Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe.”
SEPARATE RANKINGS. With KENYA, UGANDA, ZIMBABWE. That’s like saying Pakistan is not good enough to compete with India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand.
On India’s 250+ Mindset
At the same time, attention has shifted to other global leagues where on-field performance remains the sole focus. Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s strong run at the top of the SA20 points table, driven by crucial bonus wins, highlights how franchise cricket elsewhere continues to thrive amid stability and sporting clarity.

“Performing like this in a final isn’t something new for India. Good teams peak at the right time. People were saying they hadn’t scored 250 in the tournament, but we said they would. In the next two matches – the semi-final and the final – they did exactly that.”
Then he compared with Pakistan:
“If it were Pakistan in that situation, we probably would have made around 180 and then said, ‘Let the bowlers defend it.’ But when India sensed an opportunity, they pushed for 250.”
Pakistan DEFENDS small totals. India ATTACKS and makes BIG totals.
On India’s Depth
Shehzad noted that even when India lost quick wickets in the final (Suryakumar, Hardik fell), they didn’t panic.
“There came a moment when the ball got old and the wicket slowed down. Four wickets fell quickly, which allowed New Zealand to come back a bit. Otherwise, India might even have reached 275 or 280.”
That’s depth. Even when star players fail, others step up.
