After calling Abhishek Sharma a ‘slogger’, Amir predicts India’s T20 World Cup exit

Oh my god guys the DRAMA between India and Pakistan is getting CRAZY! Even after matches, the FIGHT continues on TV shows and social media! Former Pakistan bowler Mohammad Amir is making HUGE statements about India and everyone is going mad!

First he called Abhishek Sharma a “slogger” (which is a BAD word for cricketers, means you just hit blindly without technique). Then he said INDIA WON’T EVEN REACH SEMI-FINALS of the T20 World Cup! And now Harbhajan Singh and Indian fans are FIRING BACK! Let me explain everything!

What Did Amir Say About Abhishek?

So Mohammad Amir was on this Pakistani cricket show called “Haarna Mana Hai” (which means “Refuse to Lose” in Hindi/Urdu). And he said Abhishek Sharma is just a “slogger” – someone who swings bat wildly without proper cricket shots!

He said Abhishek doesn’t have technique, just tries to hit sixes blindly!

But GUESS WHAT? Abhishek is the NUMBER ONE ranked T20 batter in the WORLD! You can’t be number one if you’re just a slogger, right?

Harbhajan Singh FIRED BACK!

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh was NOT happy! He said on his YouTube channel:

“I mean, come on — what am I even supposed to say to that? He [Mohammad Amir] just gets up and says anything. If you call him a slogger, then fine, let him smash sixes — but he’s a proper batter who has every shot in the book.”

Harbhajan listed all Abhishek’s shots – over cover, through point, long-on, long-off, midwicket – EVERY SHOT! Then he said:

“After that, you can’t label him just a slogger.”

And then Harbhajan gave WARNING to Amir: “Just wait and watch tomorrow. If Abhishek stays at crease, he’ll remind everyone who he is. For the last 4-5 months, he’s already been in your dreams. If he goes big tomorrow, then for the next six months, he’ll be in your dreams again.”

But… Abhishek is Struggling

Here’s the SAD part. After Harbhajan’s warning, Abhishek played against Pakistan… and got out for ZERO! Then against the Netherlands… another ZERO! That’s THREE ducks in the tournament!

Against Netherlands, he wore Mohammed Siraj’s jersey for good luck – different color, maybe change luck? But Aryan Dutt bowled and Abhishek missed and ball hit stumps! OUT! Third duck!

Commentator Nasser Hussain said “different top for change of luck” but luck didn’t change!

Abhishek now has record – first batter in T20 World Cup history with three ducks in first three innings! He also has five ducks in the 2026 calendar year! That’s SO many!

Now Amir Says India Won't Reach Semi-Finals!

After Abhishek’s struggles, Amir went on the show AGAIN and made a BIGGER prediction! He said India will NOT qualify for semi-finals from Super 8 group!

On the Haarna Mana Hai show, the anchor asked Amir to pick two teams from Group 1 (India, South Africa, West Indies, Zimbabwe) who will reach the semis. Without hesitation, Amir said:

“South Africa and the West Indies.”

He LEFT OUT INDIA! Defending champions! Host nation! Unbeaten in the group stage!

Why Amir Thinks India Will Lose?

Amir explained his reasoning:

“Except for the Pakistan match, the Indian batting line up collapsed in every game. The way South Africa and the West Indies are playing, they can beat any team.”

He’s kind of right? Against the USA, India struggled but won. Against Namibia, they won big. Against Netherlands, they won but Abhishek got a duck. Only against Pakistan they looked COMPLETE.

Amir said on another show: “If you see their matches, the batting collapsed in all the games, barring the Pakistan contest. The pressure will rise in the Super 8 matches.”

Amir Doubles Down

When the anchor on Haarna Mana Hai asked about his statements, Amir DOUBLED DOWN! He said:

“It is my opinion. I am not saying India is a bad team. It is just my assessment, based on how their batting has performed and how the entire unit has conducted themselves so far. South Africa and the West Indies are better teams, according to me.”

Then the anchor asked “Do you want India to lose?” Amir said:

“Whether you like my opinion or hate my opinion, that is up to you. Do you want me to forcefully say India will reach the final? Pahunche ya na pahunche final main, mera kya lena dena usse? (How do I care if they make it or don’t make it?).”

He ended with “If India makes it to finals, then well and good. Mujhe kya? (How do I care?)”

Social Media is EXPLODING!

Indian fans are TROLLING Amir on X (Twitter) so much! They call him “punching bag” because every time he speaks, fans hit back!

Some say Amir is just doing “mind games” to distract India before big matches. Some say he’s jealous of Indian players. Some say he wants attention because no one talks about him otherwise!

You know what I think? Amir is ALLOWED to have an opinion! But India has PROVED everyone wrong before!

Remember the 2024 T20 World Cup? Everyone said India can’t win, they WON! Remember 2025 Champions Trophy? Everyone said India will lose the final, they WON!

Abhishek is struggling but GREAT players bounce back! Kohli struggled in 2024 then became Player of Tournament!
