It is a glorious day for cricket fans. The South African team will play the first semi-final – ICC Men’s T20 world cup against New Zealand at Kolkata Eden gardens. The successful one will go to the finals.
The fans worldwide are excited. There are only four teams left and each run and wicket counts.
There is a powerful array of talent in South Africa. Captain Aiden Markram is well in shape, is hitting fast and hitting hard early.
The other prime batters, Quinton de Kock, Dewald Brevis, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, can smash the ball and make runs in case the pitch was favourable.
Lungi Ngidi is a fast bowler who introduces sharp changes, which may confuse the batters of New Zealand and ensure that their runs are low.

The team of New Zealand is also shrewd. Captain Mitchell Santner is a bowling power that maintains the run rate down.
Adding fire power is off-spin finisher Finn Allen, all-rounder Tim Seifert, Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillps who all hit big and move fast between the wickets.
Bowlers Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry are trying to take early wickets and put pressure.
Eden Gardens is formidable in batting thus both parties are free to score. South Africa may be pursuing, and New Zealand may establish an ambitious total.
Opportunities: Kolkata has got sunny weather with no rain prediction, which is good news to the fans and the players. Should it be interfered with by rain, a reserve match on March 5 will settle the issue. In case of such a wash out of both days, South Africa progresses as there is an increase in the Super 8 ranking.

It’s difficult to predict. South Africa has strong batters and intelligent bowlers and New Zealand has clever tactics, good spin and speed.
The game can have massive sixes, unswerving wickets, and running wickets. Every ball counts.
At the same time, attention has shifted to other global leagues where on-field performance remains the sole focus. Sunrisers Eastern Cape’s strong run at the top of the SA20 points table, driven by crucial bonus wins, highlights how franchise cricket elsewhere continues to thrive amid stability and sporting clarity.

The first semi-final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup between New Zealand and South Africa is being held at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
If rain interrupts the match, a reserve day (March 5) is scheduled to complete the game. If both days are washed out, South Africa will progress to the final based on their higher Super 8 ranking.
