Pakistan to Play against India in T20 World Cup 2026

In a really big and important change of mind, the Government of Pakistan has tells their cricket team they has to play the game against India on February 15 in the T20 World Cup 2026. They was gonna not play it, which is called a boycott, but now they isn’t gonna do that boycott no more.

Everybody heard about this decisions on a Monday after a bunch of super important meetings. The meetings has the Pakistan cricket boss Mohsin Naqvi, the Prime Minister guy Shehbaz Sharif, and also some officials from the big cricket bosses of the whole world, the ICC. They changed their minds because before, Pakistan says they won’t play India to be friends with Bangladesh. Bangladesh got kicked out of the whole tournament by the ICC because they was too scared to go to India for their games, they said it wasn’t safe for them.

Why Did They Change Their Minds? Here is the Reasons:

Everybody Was Asking Them To: The Pakistan government says they looked at a lot of letters and calls from other cricket countries. The Bangladesh cricket peoples asked them, and also countries like Sri Lanka and the UAE was all like “please fix this problem!” The president of Sri Lanka, his name is Anura Kumara Dissanayake, he actually called the Pakistan Prime Minister on the phone himself! He probably did that because Sri Lanka is helping to run the tournament and if the big Pakistan vs India game didn’t happen, Sri Lanka would lose so much money. Like, no one would come to their country to watch and that’s bad for their shops and hotels.
The Big Cricket Bosses Talked It Out: The top bosses from the ICC, which is like the principal of world cricket, they had talks with the Pakistan and Bangladesh cricket peoples. They wanted to make the big fight stop. After they talked, the ICC said something super serious. They said all the countries who signed up *has* to do what they promised and play their games so the World Cup isn’t ruined. It’s like if you promise to go to your friend’s birthday party, you gotta go.

They Made Pinky Promises to Bangladesh: This is a really crucial part. To make Bangladesh feel better about being kicked out, the ICC gave them some promises. They said:

Bangladesh won’t get in any kind of trouble or have to pay money for leaving.
The ICC will help make cricket more bigger and popular in Bangladesh so they isn’t too sad later.
And the biggest thing! Bangladesh has been guaranteed that they gets to host a big ICC party, I mean tournament, before the year 2031. That’s like getting to have the next big birthday party at your house!
